WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been around for 6,000 years, utilizing thin needles on specific points on the body to support the natural healing processes of the mind and body. It sees the whole body as an integrated system and treats the root of the problem first and the symptoms second, and promotes the flow of Qi (vital energy) throughout the body.

Qi, in Western Medicine, corresponds to the circulatory system, nervous system transmission, connective tissues, transportation of oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. It is said that imbalances of Qi (circulation, neurotransmitters, transportation) throughout the body can cause disease in either the mind or body.

Disclaimer: Acupuncture works great alongside other treatments with your network of health care practitioners, and should not be prioritized if you need additional care. If you are uncomfortable with needles, there are needleless treatments available upon request.
